Been to London last weekend, second viewing of Mojo and seen/done other stuff

Last weekend I've been to London with my daughter and it was great. We left Saturday morning, arrived at the hotel in the afternoon (basic but friendly and clean, just what we needed) and walked a nice long detour to the restaurant I'd booked. Woodlands, across from the Harold Pinter Theatre, because I wanted to introduce my daughter to proper ( Read more... )

Thank you for the link to the Christmas window displays. I had missed them earlier.

Loved the Christmas windows. I wish I could see them in person.

Will look to see the prep for the jukebox scene. Thanks for the info.

There the weekend before you with my son for my birthday - brilliant play. Agree with you about Brendan. Ben good, but didn't quite reach my expectations. Best performances Daniel and Colin. Love a-shot-of-colin. Thank you

Do you think Colin Morgan holds his own on stage, because from what I can gather of the professional reviews, it is Ben Whishaw and Daniel Mays who are getting the hyperbolic raves? I am pretty sure CM doesn't spend nights comparing himself to his fellow actors, since his commitment is to his craft (not to mention it would stupid to do so), but as a fan of Colin and as someone who seems to be serious about noting acting talent, do you think that he has what it takes to be a great stage actor? I really like CM; I am a fan, but I wonder if sometimes the fan bubble prevents me from noticing certain things. Also, I am unlikely to see him on stage at this point.

I personally feel that Colin holds his own on stage, he's a damn good actor with some amazing moments and some that don't quite work. Time will tell if he'll be a great stage actor, but he's not there yet ( ... )

Thanks for the detailed response. I agree with you that we might be seeing someone who is very much in process, and that is also part of what I like about following CM's career. Hopefully, I will see him on stage, if he comes to Broadway, or if I go to the UK on research and/or holiday.

I also agree with you that he is very keen on stretching himself, and I would like to see him play someone cold and calculating, someone you cannot sympathize or empathize with. I think he does the empathy bit really well, and in fact many of his characters seem to draw empathy, sympathy, and even pity, but I would like to see him be psychotic, like Baby's character, for instance, or Christian Bale in American Psycho. I want to see if he can pull off cruel, mean, cold. As a guilty pleasure, I would like to see him in a happy heterosexual romantic comedy, or a romantic period piece like in anything by Austen, but I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon, if ever.

According to @MasterCardUK there will be a QA on Jan 19 for the Mojo cast. You can win tickets for the event. Interested? Hope you and your family are healthy and doing good. For myself I've only to days left of work and then a deserved holiday until Jan 7.
May the force be with you!

No, I hadn't seen that, and thanks for the info :D

There's no way I can go to London any time soon, so unfortunately it's not for me. I hope Colin will attend the Q&A though (he has a history of not doing so of course) and that we'll get reports and maybe even pictures.

Last day of work this year for you; have a lovely holiday!
