I'd just like to take a moment and thank everyone for their well-wishes, AIM and comments and calls and everything. It's been really appreciated. I'll likely share details later, but for now, I still don't really feel comfortable.

So, well, the family arrived today. And I mean the family - grandparents and uncles and aunts and cousins and stuff ( Read more... )

I happen to think the sweaty, dirty look is sexy so I'm sure it suited you well. I get how it's not really the look you want the grandparents to see though.

I'm sorry you couldn't take your trip to the Middle East. Maybe sometime in the future? I think you'd like it.

I haven't had the opportunity to speak to you on AIM yet, but whenever you're around and I'm on you should get in touch. walnuts womack.

*grins* Maybe, but not for the family, yanno.

Yeah, I am too, but, priorities. You have a good time over there? I'm hopin' to maybe reschedule for later this summer.

I'll definitely do that. Mine's ChimesSeven. Feel free to add me.

Not maybe, yes, but certainly not for the family.

Totally understandable. Yeah, I had a great time. I'd like to go back again sometime.

Already done. ;)

*laughs* Well if it's a 'yes', I can see why you'd like football, then.

You'll have to tell me about it. M'hopin' to talk to you soon. :)

Mock trial. Ha. Cute shirt, really.

Those recruiting years are crazy, especially junior year. You're lucky you skipped it over, really.

Mm, yeah, you're such a coward.

Love the shirt - ain't really mine, I was never on mock trial. Stupid jock, remember? Nor did I have the time, but my buddy was on, so I sorta stole the shirt. He was drunk and he tore one of mine up, so what can I say - eye for an eye, shirt for a shirt. Heh. Still, ain't somethin' I wanted Grammy seeing.

Yeah, I know. And I was an okay WR, too, so all the recruiters were like, "Are you crazy? We're offering you a scholarship to come catch for us, you've never even played at quarterback." Trust me though, man, they made up for it startin' senior year. My first game I threw six TDs, got 12 calls that same night.

I know, tell me bout it.

Two or three sports cuts down on the free time for other extracurriculurs, yeah.

That's a pretty gutsy decision, really. I mean. Takes a lot of confidence, not that you lack that. Risk paid off, though, huh.

Naw, the shirt thing was in college - c'mon, you really think a high school would allow a slogan like 'Hung Like a Jury'? So just football then, but still, I know you can relate to how much time that took anyway, even off-season.

Just wanted to play QB so BAD, man. And I knew I could, knew I should, but the coach's son...well, it's a long story, and I ain't gonna accuse anyone of nepotism. Just can't get enough of throwin' that ball though. *smirks* You know what I mean. I mean, I only been on that field as a QB for three years. Four, now, after this one. Man, you're makin' me miss football, you know?

Hockey is easy enough to understand. It's what you turn to in Canada with the winters. At least that was my experiece growing up in the suburbs of Montreal. In the few months of spring/summer we had, I could have pulled off being a regular American kid playing baseball and soccer. *grins* Except for the whole French being my first language thing.

You should definitely check out a game if you have the chance, or hit me up on messanger and I will be more than happy to answer any questions.

Man, winter is football for us. Up until just about February. You guys go longer, I think. But then we got basketball to tide us over... *smiles* Hockey never really entered the equation, y'see. I played basketball, baseball, and football - but not soccer, not hockey.

Yeah, sure, but you guys ain't playin' now, right?

No, the NHL is not playing. I was in Russia playing all through the winter and I would be playing for Canada in the Worlds at the end of April if not for my knee.

Yeah, we go longer. *grins* October until April. And that isn't including the playoffs. When the Lightning won the Cup, we had played from October until June.

Russia? Do a helluva lot to keep playin', don't you? I understand though, I think, though I wouldn't wanna play anywhere but home.

October til June? That's crazy. That's 9 months, man! Where's your offseason? We're September to January, playoffs til start of February. But off-season team workouts start in May, and I've been at our practice facility for bout the whole of this month. Still, man.

I hope things are better for your family. And if they are not now, I hope they are better soon.

Take care.
