Wow! I haven't done a favorites list in forever. Since the TV season is almost over, it's time for the annual hotties list! First up are the ladies!
(You can review last year's list
here)
5. Emily VanCamp - Rebecca Harper (Brothers & Sisters)
How'd she fare last year? N/A. She didn't have a regular role on any TV series.
Okay, so it's not good that I'm starting off with a cheat since I don't actually watch "Brothers & Sisters" on a regular basis, but I swear this is my only cheat on the list. Also, please note that the above photo is relatively old, but she looks pretty much the same now, just slightly older. Anyway, from the little I have seen of her on the show, she does a great job. That's pretty much all I have to say about that. I will admit that most of my admiration for her stems from my "Everwood" watching days. Maybe by next year I'll have started watching the show and will have more to say if she makes the list again.
What makes her hot? Great hair, relatability, subtlety, and grace.
4. Sophia Bush - Brooke Davis (One Tree Hill)
How'd she fare last year? Down one spot, from #3 to #4.
Sophia's still hot, but the quality of her show wrecked her ranking a bit. This season on "One Tree Hill," Brooke grew up and got responsible, tossing out most of the reckless abandon that made her fun to watch. While it's nice to see her character develop and show a softer side, she's Brooke-effing-Davis. She needs to hookup with the bartender, Owen, before she slides all the way off the list.
What makes her hot? Raspy voice, strategically placed facial moles, relationships with friends, and fabulous clothes.
3. Summer Glau - Cameron Phillips (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles)
How'd she fare last year? Random reoccuring roles on a few TV shows wasn't enough to land her on the list.
Side note - from the thumbnail, she looks like Kiera Knightley. Anyway, a lot of these rankings are biased from my prior love of the person, so you're just going to have to deal with it. While I haven't watched much of the later episodes of T:SCC, I can say that Summer was the only part of the earlier episodes that I did like. I'm pretty sure given the choice between Summer and Lena Headey, most people favor Summer. Maybe next season we'll get "Terminator: Cameron is Cooler than Everyone Else." I'd watch.
What makes her hot? Ability to kick ass, looks cool holding a gun, plays a robot really well, and overall leet-ness.
2. Becki Newton - Amanda Tanner (Ugly Betty)
How'd she fare last year? "Milkshake" bumps her up from #5 to #2.
Though "Ugly Betty"s fame is falling, Becki Newton's is skyrocketing. From season one to season two, Amanda Tanner has gone from cute interjection girl to full blown star. Developing her own backstory with the discovery of her biological mother and her search for her biological father, Amanda (with the help of Marc) has become the must watch, most memorable part of the show. As with Summer Glau, I call spin-off series.
What makes her hot? Fierceness, shamelessness, sauciness, and spunk (is that repetitive?).
1. Kristen Bell - Elle Bishop (Heroes)
How'd she fare last year? Top of the heap, of course.
Thank God she found another TV show, otherwise I would've either a) refused to make another list until she did or b) cheated and put her on anyway. And though she isn't technically a regular cast member, she made quite the splash last year when she landed the role of Elle. While many may hate Elle, I can't get enough of her. I like crazy and I like Kristen. Put those two together and it's almost as fun to watch as "Veronica Mars." Plus, she shoots electricity out of her hands!
What makes her hot? What doesn't? But of all the girls on this list, she has, by far, the best hair. And at the end of the day, that's all that matters.
Honorable Mentions:
* Yvonne Strahovski - Agent Sarah Walker (Chuck)
Stiff competition with the ladies this year, and Yvonne just missed the list. Everybody loves an Aussie, but it's even cooler when you totally can't tell that they're one. Plus, the Spice Girl in me likes that she kicks ass.
* Julie Benz - Rita Bennett (Dexter)
Though she plays damaged and broken on "Dexter," she still manages to look really good and totally not her age. Something about her vulnerability makes her one of the most intriguing characters to watch. Take that, Lila!
* Tina Fey - Liz Lemon (30 Rock)
Funny is hot and Tina is FUNNY. But besides being funny, Tina's beauty is very understated. And like Julie, she looks much younger than her age. Most importantly, though...great hair.
