hottest males from the 2009-2010 tv season!

Aug 17, 2010 18:17

Well, this took slightly longer than expected, but here's the other half of the annual TV hot list.  Boys!  I'm running out of creative ways to explain why people are hot, so if any of this sounds really stupid, I apologize in advance.

(Previous lists 2008-20092007-2008 | 2006-2007)

5. ETHAN PECK - Patrick Verona (10 Things I Hate About You)

How'd he fare last year? N/A.  This year was the first, and unfortunately last, season of the show.
What makes him hot? It's no secret that I love the bad boys, but my favorite type of bad boy is probably the quiet, mysterious type and Patrick Verona is just that.  Fortunately for Ethan, he inherited his grandfather's rugged good looks.  So when he plasters on a broody, intense stare or a mischievous smirk, it's really hard not to be totally charmed.
Hottest quality? That deep, rich, velvety voice.

4. RYAN KWANTEN / JOE MANGANIELLO - Jason Stackhouse / Alcide Herveaux (True Blood)

How'd they fare last year? Ryan stays put at #4, while Joe joins him after what is arguably his breakthrough role.  Alcide is way hotter than Owen from One Tree Hill.
What makes them hot? I try not to objectify the guys on my list by focusing on their bodies and using the many available shirtless pictures of them, but it's really hard when they're on a show that focuses so much on gratuitous nudity.  Not to detract from their performances on the show or whatever, but come on.  Let's not pretend it's not a disappointment when they're wearing clothes.
Hottest quality? ABS.

3. TAYLOR KITSCH / ZACH GILFORD - Tim Riggins / Matt Saracen (Friday Night Lights)

How'd they fare last year? Taylor finally relinquishes his #1 spot as the duo slip to the middle of the list.
What makes them hot? Despite the fact that their characters are being slowly phased out in favor of the new class of kids, Taylor and Zach are still two of the shows greatest commodities.  Zach turned in his best year yet, even garnering fan campaigns for an Emmy nomination for his work in the episode "The Son".  And Taylor was just more of Taylor...getting hotter by the year.
Hottest quality? Bringing the grown and sexy to a show about high school teenagers.

2. PAUL WESLEY / IAN SOMERHALDER / STEVEN R. MCQUEEN / MATTHEW DAVIS - Stefan Salvatore / Damon Salvatore / Jeremy Gilbert / Alaric Saltzman (The Vampire Diaries)

(Sidenote: I mean no offense to the people I photoshopped out of that middle picture. =P)
How'd they fare last year? N/A.  Another freshman series breaking onto the list.
What makes them hot? There is just so much pretty on this show.  I guess that's obvious considering I totally cheated by shoving all four of them into one spot (I even opted out of including Zach Roerig in the bunch).  I've seen all of them in some of their previous work, but I admittedly never took notice of all their hotness until now.  They're all hot in their own way and I'm too lazy to take the time to detail all that out, so I'm just gonna stick with their prettiness.
Hottest quality?  Looking good in dark colors.

1. TAYLOR KINNEY - Glenn Morrison (Trauma)

How'd he fare last year? N/A.  Like Ethan Peck, this was his show's first and last year.
What makes him hot? As Glenn, the new paramedic on the block, Taylor was so bright-eyed and naive, always striving to do his best and do the right thing that you had to love him.  And when he found out the job wasn't as black and white as he thought, you couldn't help but want to give him a hug.  Plus, lifesaving boys in uniform are totally sexy.  Bad news, Trauma was canceled.  Good news, Taylor is joining the cast of The Vampire Diaries!  I think he'll fit in just fine.
Hottest quality? Pretty, pretty eyes.

Honorable Mentions:
* MARK SALLING - Noah Puckerman (Glee)
I love me some Puck, but he didn't get ample enough storylines for me to put him on the big list (which I think is a shame).
* KEVIN ALEJANDRO - Detective Nate Moretta (Southland)
This guy should get an award for being as hardworking as he is.  Not only is he on Southland and True Blood, but he's also adding Parenthood to his resume soon.  After making the list the very first year, it's good to see him making a comeback.
* AARON PAUL - Jesse Pinkman (Breaking Bad)
So his character might be kind of immature and obnoxious, but Jesse went through a lot of shit this year.  And with the way Aaron portrayed his suffering and struggle, he totally just got sexier in my eyes.

Where'd they go?
* JASON SUDEIKIS - Wasn't really on anything besides SNL anymore.
* TAHMOH PENIKETT - Even though Dollhouse was still on the air this season, his character was not as hot after he handed his balls over to Echo.
* MICHAEL RADY - He may have been off of Greek, but he did manage to snag a role on Melrose Place.  Unfortunately, even his hotness wasn't enough to make me watch the show.

And...iminyourfanclub 's list.
