I was bored!
I decided to do the countdown thing on the PW community. Because, I really just want to put off doing calculus and figuring out dinner plans for my friends and I. Notice how I’m trying to make it sound like I have a life.
How noble of me.
So, I'd heard about Phoenix Wright a while back when I was reading through the entertainment section of the Calgary Herald. Since I’ve always kind of wanted to be a lawyer (except when I didn’t…), I thought it sounded kind of interesting. But, I could never find it anywhere.
Then, as it turned out, my friend Carleen had it. And she was kind enough to lend it to be on our spare together.
Case 1-1: The First Turnabout
We open with someone dying. Oh, how terribly exciting that is! Lots of happy go lucky exposition . Then… a courtroom lobby.
Mia shows up. She has magnificent breasts. I’m reminded of Dr. Cuddy from House. I wondered if Phoenix would make any inappropriate comments about cleavage like House does. Sadly, he does not. In fact, I don’t think a single person notices her breasts.
Then, enter Larry. I was excited about the whole Childhood Friend of DOOM thing.
“Larry/Phoenix? Y/Y?” I aske Carleen.
“OMFG NO” was the only reply I was greeted with.
I soon agreed with her. Larry was far too straight, and Phoenix was going to hook up with Mia.
So, we get into court, and I’m all excited that I’m playing as this guy who is going to so totally hook up with Mia.
At this point I told Carleen I thought Phoenix was kind of hot. For a bunch of pixels, of course.
Carleen looked at me like I had two heads.
There wasn’t much too this case both then and now. I was shocked at how easy this tutorial was, and hoped the rest of the game wouldn’t be like that.
“You’ll see…” Said Carleen.
“Phoenix and Mia are going to hook up. And it’ll be hot!” I said.
Carleen merely ominously.
“And Larry is Phoenix’s BFFL!”
“…he’s not really your friend…” Damn her and her ominous hints.
Finally, it all makes sense to me.
“Oh my God. Larry kills Mia.”
