yeah its always the shitty things that almost kill you, im glad you didnt die or get horribly disfigured because i would probably be guilted into buying you a funeral present or being a friend to a guy who looks like Sloth from the Goonies.
a couple weeks ago i was trying to change the shape of a small peice of metal with a sledgehammer and on the first time i hit it, it flew directly at my face, hitting my lip and right next to my temple. i totally could have been blinded or something worse. i was also lucky... luckier than i should have been.
then again, it would be kinda cool to get a darwin award
I know this is kind of weird but one time when I was in Washington D.C. I took a taxi to get to the airport and the driver was like, this super nice wise fat black lady and I told her about when that tree fell on me and if it had fallen on my head I would have died. Then she told me that in her religion (I have yet to figure out what that might be) that when we are in Heaven or whatever its equivalent is, before we are about to be born, we kind of plan our life. And we give ourselves something like 7 near-death experiences so that if our souls are really ready to die/leave the earth/go back to Heaven they can take advantage of the opportunity and go. But that if our souls still had reason to be on Earth then we wouldn't be killed by whatever was trying to kill us (tree, car, illness). I still think about it sometimes. It is kind of a crazy theory but its also kind of cool...like you still have some divine reason to live. And it probably makes as much sense as anything else out there anyways.
hey I tried calling you back today but you didn't pick up. Wow i'm so glad you're safe. I was really worried. Brittany told me you were fine though but just cut on the face.
let's talk more on the phone about it. I'll call you again tomorrow.
