Private message to Christine Chapel (rn_chapel)

You're not still angry, are you? I hope you've been well and taking care of yourself.

Shall I pop by later this afternoon to check on you?

Roger

Meeting you the other afternoon was so lovely, I was hoping you'd let me see you again. Perhaps dinner tonight?Roger

I'm fine. And I'm not angry. I was, but I guess tempers flare and things like that happen. I hope it won't happen again, though.

You can come by if you want to, but I really am okay. How are you? You were the one who got in a fight, after all.

Anything I can bring you? I understand pregnant women have unusual cravings?

Not as unusual as people seem to think.

I am out of ice cream, as it happens. But there's no need to go out of your way.

We'll see what I can come up with.

Roger

There had been exactly three kinds of ice cream at the market that Roger stopped at, and none of the flavors sounded particularly appetizing. But who knew what women liked, they had odd cravings at this time, right?

Pressing the chime at her apartment, he felt at least armed and ready to meet her with a gift, apologize for brawling in front of her, and perhaps driving a wedge between her and that interloper James.

Tina was exhausted. She'd just finished making the bed up with fresh sheets (again) after showering (again), and was planning to collapse into it and try to sleep away the rest of this whatever-the-hell-it-was. Maybe she could blame her turning and going to open the door, instead, on being tired. Maybe she was just stupid.

But she did open it, and on the other side was... Roger.

She didn't feel so tired anymore. She felt...

"Oh, hell."

"Close," Roger told her with a wink, stepping past her as he made his way inside her quarters. "I hope you like vegetable-flavored gelato, because that's all I was able to procure, but I was assured that the taste grows on you..." His voice trailed off as he finished the sentence.

"Christine, are you feeling well?" She looked flushed, the poor dear.

"I've felt better," Tina said faintly. She should tell him to leave. She should push him right out the door, and then... But that would involve touching him.

Why didn't she want to touch him, again? They weren't a couple anymore. But that didn't mean he wasn't still an attractive man. It was only natural that she still remembered him fondly, sometimes. Wanted him, sometimes.

Like now.

And then she was touching him, her hand against the back of his neck as she tilted her face up and hauled him down for a kiss.

See, this is what he was waiting for- for her to stop playing that coy game, pretending like he was bothering her. She missed him, he knew that, and this was the proof. Roger kissed her back tenderly, because he remembered that she liked it like that.

Her hands were warm... and he pressed close to her, the bump around her abdomen making him pause for a second before he tilted his head and returned the kiss. "Missed this," he murmured, nuzzling her hot skin. "You're so warm, darling."

Right, she was warm because she was ill - or something - and she should warn Roger, but... He was nuzzling the side of her neck, and she forgot why it was important.

"I missed it too," she said, with perfect sincerity. She had. She did. She still thought she'd made the right decision, leaving him. But she'd loved him. And maybe still did, a little, despite everything.

She sighed and leaned into him, wrapping her arms around him and holding him close.

His arms wound around her and Roger felt her contouring to him. He nuzzled her hair and sighed, familiar scent despite not being this close to her in quite a while.

Dipping his head he caught her mouth once more, a smile as he pulled away. "Did you want me to put the ice cream away, my pretty girl?"

"Good idea," Tina managed to say, though she slipped her hand through his as she walked to the kitchenette and opened the freezer. It wouldn't be long now before she'd be unable to think about practicalities like melting ice cream.

If she'd been capable of it, she would have been impressed that Roger was so calm and collected.

She seemed a little unsettled, but Roger put that down to the pregnancy. Always a tactile little thing, Roger had loved her for that, the way she touched him without guile.

But even knowing that about her, he was still a little surprised at how forward she was. "I thought you were mad at me," he teased, walking her back to the sofa in her living area. "Did you want to go eat something?" he asked, curious.

Mad at him? Oh, right. "I was. I'm over it. And I'm not hungry."

She put her hands on either side of his face and kissed him again. "Let's have sex."

...Actually, Tina probably would have been about that direct about what she wanted even if she wasn't under the influence of alien sexpop.

"Let's," he repeated, a smile tugging at his face. Must be the hormones. Fabulous. "Bedroom, love?" he asked her, his hands roaming down her back and over her ass.

Hmmm, that was still perfect.

It was nice, to be touched with such familiarity and assurance. But they weren't in the bedroom yet. Tina pulled away from Roger just enough to catch his hand again and tug him through the suite and to the foot of the bed.

Standing there for the third time in one day, it struck her briefly that she'd been doing this an awful lot all of a sudden. Something strange was going on.

And then she kissed Roger again and forgot all about it.

Roger walked until his legs hit the bed and he sat down, looking up at her. His hands slid under her shirt and over her abdomen, feeling the round protrusion, more curious than anything.

His hands slid up toward her breasts, filling his hands as he squeezed lightly. Her skin was warm all over. "You feel good, Christine," he murmured against her belly. "Want to make you feel so good."
