Evening update: Valerie T now claims her Twitter account was hacked. Some people believe this. . . As for the Ex, polls see her losing.

Final update: the Ex lost, big. She has stopped using makeup, perhaps to emphasize 'victimitude'; and she talks a great deal about 'betrayal' -- not by her successor but by her successful rival, who (horror of horrors) got elected with votes, not only from decent socialists, but from (gulp) the Right. He has entered Parliament but is looked at askance by all proper Party members. As for the Valerie Twitterer, a crushing veil of silence has descended . . .
