Having reprinted 'Dining-room Tea', I can't resist putting up one of the great sonnets by the same fine poet, who died at the age of 27 on the way to a far battlefield.

This poem is beautiful. My favourite one from the "killed in action" poets is "Heart of the heartless world" by Cornford.

I didn't know the Cornford. It's moving. Thanks for pointing me to it. One of mine is WIlfred Owen's 'Apologia Pro Poemate Meo'.
