My apologies for being so distant recently. My mum's gotten really sick...I don't know what it is, and the doctors at St. Mungo's haven't really been able to deliver anything to help her.

No problem pal, I managed to clean up that whole Dark Lord/Death Eater mess by myself while you were away. Lemme tell you, that was a busy weekend. Seriously though, if ya've gotta take care of your mum I really don't think they're gonna give you a tough time about it. The operation is headed by Dumbledore, genius or not the guy's still the biggest teddybear around. If not, well I guess we'll just have to try and find some way to guard the castle without you, if of course we can stand to lose a soldier of your nigh epic prowess.

I'm still waiting for some sort of result from the damn healers around here. I swear, they only seem to care during visitor's hours when I'm in her room. I plan on hiring a nurse or something when I can't be around.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother's illness. Of course we can work something out to let you visit her; family, after all, is one of the most important things in life. I'll be sure to let you all know when you're going back to Hogwarts. All I ask is that you keep me informed on your situation.

Should you need to talk about anything, do let me know. I remember caring for my own mother and how strenous it can be.

Mr. Dodge, thanks for your consideration, it really means a lot to me right now.

The doctors haven't really developed any results yet, but I plan on hiring a nurse or asking family to stay with her while I'm at Hogwarts. I'll keep you posted.
