IC Information:
Name: Steven "Steve" Grant Rogers AKA Captain America
Fandom: Marvel Comics
Timeline: Right when he wakes up from his frozen/coma state in the modern world.
Age: 25 when frozen; Frozen for 50-60 years so he is approximately 75-85
Appearance:
Steve is a relatively tall and well built man. He stands at 6'2" with blonde hair and blue eyes. Due to the full body suits he usually wears, his skin is a pale flesh color, but not unhealthily so. He just stands on the paler side of the spectrum. Due to the super soldier serum, it had enhanced many of Steve's physical traits. Although he was normally that tall, he was frail and thin. The super soldier serum has changed Steve to a much healthier size. He's well built and keeps in shape. His weight stands at 240 lbs, most of it being muscle mass. He usually dresses in plain or more conservative clothes if he's not in the Captain America uniform.

Abilities: Due to the super soldier serum, his entire physiology has been enhanced. He is at the peak human condition without being considered human. That means his strength, speed, intelligence, agility, and durability are all at the highest level that of a normal human can reach. His reflexes are also heightened so much that he can dodge gunfire at close range or being shot at multiple gunners. Steve is also able to heal faster then most humans and is immune to most if not all types of illnesses, disorders, and diseases.

Because of the serum, his cognitive abilities are extremely heightened. He has a near-eidetic memory, which means he rarely forgets anything and has perfect recall. He's a tactical genius and able to remember every military tactic and can apply it to any situation given. He can process through multiple information streams and respond to any tactical situation that may change.

The serum also slows his aging down, which means that Steve may keep his youth for the rest of his life and his senses are incredibly heightened.

Along with the serum, Steve is trained in all kinds of martial arts and self defense. He outshines mostly anyone in fighting with his shield. This also makes him a trained marksman in more then just shield throwing. He's a trained tactician and military operator. He's trained in acrobatics and proficient with most weapons. He is trained to be able to drive most motor vehicles ranging from cars to even sea and air vehicles.

Steve's will is nearly unbreakable which makes it near impossible for him to be mind controlled.

He's gifted in multiple languages and is a professional/skilled artist.

Personality:
Steve is a simple guy from Brooklyn.

Well, he thinks of himself as one.

Steve is a man with a big heart. He'll go out of his way to help others and never seems to be the type to say no if it means assisting others in any way. It's a surprising trait that many probably don't understand. Even growing up fighting in the war, it seems that his compassion and care towards others had not wavered nor has the war steeled his heart. Even towards enemies, he knows compassion. He's caring and loving towards closed ones and even those he isn't closed to. He seems to legitimately care for everyone that is around him, and he does. His safety comes last, and he would rather run into gunfire to protect someone he doesn't know at all then let them get hurt. Steve cares for the safety and well-being of others so much that he refuses to live in a close vicinity of people to protect them.

He has seems to have unwavering optimism. Steve legitimately seems to be always sure that the good guys will win. He doesn't seem to think that there would ever be a time where they would lose or that there aren't any. To him, there is never a moment where things are hopeless. It isn't that the bad guys will win, it's just a matter of time when the good guys will show up to help out in anyway possible.

However, that doesn't mean he isn't ignorant. For all his optimism, Steve is also very realistic in his thinking. Going through the Depression and war, Steve has seen his fair share of travesties and destruction. If anything, he's seen and gone through more an average guy should witness. But it's probably seeing all that and knowing what would happen if the good guys were to lose is why he tries so hard to prevent it. His loyalty towards what he thinks is right and to protect people so they can have peaceful lives pushes him forward to continue fighting. He's extremely loyal to his nation and people. He has never said no to helping people out or taking on a mission, despite whether he's being worked too hard or if he's tired. He literally puts himself last and everyone and everything else before him.

Steve rarely even complains about the burden he continues to carry throughout his life. What was meant to be administered to an entire army ended up on only his shoulders, yet he never complained about it. He accepted it with no complaints. Even when Steve complains, it's usually something trivial and silly because he knows better then to complain about something he can not change. Even when he knows full well that what happened to him wasn't something he wanted, he still continues on. He only wanted to serve his country, he didn't ask to be Captain America. Very few, if any, even realize that about him.

What is surprising is the slight naivety that Steve has about him. For a man who seems to be serious a lot, he seems to not realize a lot of things. He easily trusts others as he is the type who will treat others with kindness. He seems to be interested in learning new things. He easily gets teased for his simpleness, although he seems to not seem to mind. Steve is humble and knows when to humor others. His mindset, is still very old-fashioned, which leads to his polite manner towards others. He's also a very literal guy, so at times, he misinterprets things wrong, as he takes the literal sense of the words or saying, not realizing that they mean something different. There's an air of innocence that surrounds him, although that doesn't mean he is less knowledgeable in things, but it makes him more genuine if anything.

Steve is a rather serious guy. He acts much older then he really is, although maybe not since he's been frozen for so long. But, he usually seems to care more about working or doing his job right then enjoying himself. It seems that Steve just forgets that he can relax, but he's too busy being swamped with responsibilities. Even when he does seem to relax or do something enjoyable, it seems to be in the company of other people or it's less about himself and more about someone else. Such an example is celebrating Bucky's birthday, where he was willing to push off his duties for the sake of having the other enjoy himself.

He is also very honest. Perhaps he isn't very good at lying, or just very obvious. But, Steve usually says what's on his mind. He also follows wholeheartedly in his decisions and what he believes is right. Even if it meant fighting against allies or people he once considered friends. This just goes back to Steve's ability to do anything to protect other people even at the expense of himself. This also may lead to his stubborn nature, where he becomes adamant to do what he says he will do and stubbornly refuse to back down. But maybe that's more of his unwavering will then stubbornness. If Steve sees something that isn't working out or causing more harm then help, he will willfully back down. The safety of the people are more important to him.

He's very selfless, which often can become a hazard for himself as it puts him in obvious danger. After all, he would rather take a bullet for someone else then letting them get injured.

Steve is the type of guy who rushes forward into things. He's used to being on the frontlines. He, for the most part, isn't usually the type who thinks of intellectual or sneaky plans, but the type of guy who moves forward without hesitation. However, he knows when to step back or to assess the situation before running in. Because of his forward attitude, it becomes frustrating for him not able to do what he wants. When he sees people in trouble but can't do it at a risk of political distress or because it would cause more trouble then help, it strains on him, because he doesn't want to just stand there and let people being treated badly when they don't deserve it.

He also very much likes things to be simple. He grew up in an era where politics have not grown extremely complicated, or at least, his actions weren't tied completely with it. He doesn't like things to be complicated as it becomes tiresome to deal with. The things he enjoys tend to be very simple, such as his enjoyment with drawing. But he just likes to keep it plain, simple, and forward. The complications in the modern world are quite a bother to him.

Steve is very much a man in the past. He owns keepsakes such as photos and journals that are close to his heart. He often reminisces about things of the past and recalls old stories and personal experiences. He enjoys watching old newsreels and doesn't seem to be too interested in modern technology. He finds them fascinating, but he very much prefers when things were simpler and easier to figure out. However, he knows not to live in the past and look to the future. He knows it's familiar and comfortable to him, but as a soldier, he's there to make tomorrow's world better.

A problem Steve has is accepting the fact that he can't do everything. He feels guilty when he can't save people or do things that he wants to do. He tries to shoulder the world, even though he's very much human.

Overall, Steve is merely a simple man from Brooklyn who only wants to help other people.

History:
Steve was born July 4th, 1920. He's the child of Sarah and Joseph Rogers, who were poor Irish immigrants. Steve was very frail as a child, probably partly from the fact that he grew up during the Great Depression and wasn't very wealthy. His father died while he was a child and his mother dies of pneumonia in his late teens (after he graduates from high school).

Due to his weak body and his inability to be successful in atheltics, Steve goes into college for fine arts, specializing in illustration. He takes a year of art school and is later hired by the police department to do sketches for witnesses.

Steve tries to enlist in the army once he sees the devastation the Axis powers causing in Europe and Asia through the newsreel. He feels that America will soon get dragged into it. However, due to his frail body, he is automatically rejected. Steve was in no health to even pass for the induction and is classified 4-F. However, Steve was determined to show how much he wants to serve his country which eventually leaves an impression on the Army recruiters and trainers. General Chester Phillips notices Steve and gives him a chance to serve. Steve agrees to go a project called Operation: Rebirth, which would make super soldiers out of me through a Super Soldier Serum.

Steve is taken to Washington D.C. and meets the creator of the serum, Dr. Abraham Erskine. From there on, Steve undergoes weeks of testing to choose the first candidate to get the serum administered, which eventually is Steve.

Steve has the serum injected to him before being bombarded with Vita-rays. The Vita-rays are mean to accelerate and stabilize the serum in Steve's body. The serume works Steve emerges from the vita-ray chamber with the most perfect a human body can be. However, a Nazi spy had witnessed the change and shot and killed Dr. Erskine minutes after the process happened. Because Dr. Erskine had not wanted Nazis to get the formula, he had never put the serum to paper and died before he could. This left Steve as the sole beneficiary of the serum.

Steve chased the Nazi spy who had killed Dr. Erskine, killing the spy by breaking his neck. He vowed to fight as America's super soldier. But more then that. He vowed to fight as a symbol for his nation and to fight America's enemies.

At the loss of being able to create and army of super soldiers, the U.S. government would use Steve to the best of his abilities. He would be pitted against Red Skull, the leader of the Nazi terrorist operations. The Government had given Steve a uniform based on the American flag while President Roosevelt presents him with his current shield. The shield is disc-shaped and is made of a rare metal that has yet to be replicated, making it the shield one-of-a-kind. It also becomes legendary as Steve uses it through the entire war. He is also given a sidearm, but he quickly abandons it, and is given the name Captain America. From then on, he is widely known as such.

He's shortly stationed on an army based in Virginia, serving as private Steve Rogers. While pretending to be a soldier-to-be, Steve was deployed on several covert missions. Some were domestic and some abroad. He meets Bucky while on this base, who eventually is trained especially to become his partner while fighting in World War II.

The two fight together for awhile. However, after Pearl Harbor, Steve and Bucky form the Invaders. The members include Namor the Sub-Mariner, the Human Torch, Toro, Bucky, and himself.

With the help of the Invaders and the duo themselves, the war starts coming to an end in a few years. The year is 1945 when Bucky and Steve are on a routine mission to stop a drone plane by Baron Heinrich Zemo. The duo engaged Zemo, but before they can stop him, he launches the plane. The two are able to jump onto the drone plane, intent on defusing it. However, Steve isn't able to keep hold and eventually slips off. He also realizes that Bucky can't defuse it and tells him to jump. However the plane explodes before Bucky can jump and is apparently killed by the explosion. Steve is thrown into the icy waters of the Atlantic. Steve is frozen in ice, frozen in suspended animation.

Steve is frozen in ice from 1945 (when the drone plane exploded) to around 1995-2005 (the time fluctuates to keep up with actual society and is updated at times to expand his suspension).

In the modern age, Namor is actually the one to find Steve's frozen body. He becomes angry that an Inuit tribe is worshiping what seems to be an inanimate object, throws it into the ocean. The ice is apparently damaged when he hurls it and starts thawing, eventually showing Steve who is contained inside. The Avengers, who were fighting Namor and Hulk, see Steve and pull him on-board their vessel. Realizing that he's alive and was suspended in the ice, they revive him.

Roleplay Sample - Log:
He pressed the tip of his pencil against the sketchbook page gently. It was a rare moment where he had some time for himself. Ever since he had been brought to the modern age, he had been doing mostly Avengers related work or trying to properly acclimate to his new home. Not that the latter was much of a problem really. Still, the nice downtime he got was more than appreciated.

It's why he was currently at the Grand Canyon. The hike was enjoyable even if he was going by himself. And the weather seemed to be on his side the entire way. But now the sun was steadily going down, and nighttime was hitting. He got a small fire started and was sitting next to it. He'd have to head back home the next day most likely. He doubted things would be peaceful for too long. But a day was more then enough.

And he certainly enjoyed himself. That's why he was now seated, sketching into his sketchbook. It was funny, but this trip was probably less about himself and more about who he was taking the trip for.

"You always wanted to see the Grand Canyon..."

He stopped to stare down at the sketch fondly. A drawing of Bucky. His partner and friend. He could even consider the other as a brother or practically anything at this point. Bucky had wanted to see the Grand Canyon after the war ended, but it never happened. He had been presumed dead, although their was no body to confirm it.

But Steve remembered how much the other wanted to see it. He held the sketchbook up towards the canyon, a smile on his face. It wasn't the same as Bucky actually being there to see it for himself, but this was a nice alternative for the time-being.

Pardon...?

[There's a lot of rustling, like whoever is talking is also moving constantly.]

Thi-Where is this? [He sounds puzzled, but definitely not scared.] This is Private Steve Rogers. I'm unsure whether this device is actually used for communication, but it seems to be.

[There's a pause, before a small thunk sound is heard indicating he dropped the 'berry back on the table. Apparently, he's abandoned the thought of trying to work the device and is talking more to himself.]

This seems to be a containment facility of some kind...but how did I get here? The last thing I recall...[He trails off, deep in thought.] The plane. Zemo.

...Bucky?

This game includes horrible mental and physical torture of your character. After reading the rules/faq for clarification, how do you expect your character to handle this and continue to function?
Mental and physical torture isn't something that Steve is not new to. Steve grew up during the Great Depression and fought in World War II. He's seen what the Depression had done to many people, but more so, he's seen what war can do to people. He's gone through a rough time, fighting as America's symbol. Also, his will makes it hard to actually break Steve. Although it will strain him greatly, Steve will continue to move forward regardless of what's happened to him previously. YOUR EXPERIMENTS WILL NOT STOP HIM. B[
