This word is perfect to describe how the DMV workers eventually assume the shape of their chair after working there for a long period of time. If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about please let me know. I'm still mad that I can't tell people that I'm in a hypernasty mood everytime I have to go to the DMV.

maintain v.t. to keep, pp maintained, syn. kept.

So... if maintained = kept... not sure about how annie mosher feels about being a "kept woman", and in the dark, no less.
