Title: How To Save A Life, Without Pants
Characters: McKay/Sheppard, Mitchell
Summary: Set right after "
Laundry", written as a response to the "What Happened Next" meme for
morgynleri_fic who wanted to know what happened after "Laundry, particularly does Mitchell find out, and how does he react if he does?"
Rating: We'll call this T for teen.
Cameron was shifting nervously when John came into the entry way. "What's up?"
"Is McKay here?"
John wasn't sure how to answer that, considering he'd left Rodney naked in his laundry alcove. He settled on, "What's going on?"
"Vala… We need McKay. He's not at work, and they said he comes to see you sometimes. Is he here?"
"He's here but-"
Cameron pushed past him. "Where is he? We need to go, right now. We're down to thirty minutes."
Shit. "She's stuck in the gate?"
"No, we need McKay to braid her pigtails! Of course she's stuck in the gate." Cameron was looking extra twitchy. "Where is he?"
"I'm back here." Rodney's head poked around the corner. "But I'd like to state for the record that this isn't what it looks like and-" He was clearly shirtless, and John could see a bit of leg too. They were so screwed.
"No pants. Right." Cameron nodded like this happened all the time and touched his earpiece. "Sam, beam us up and find someone to get McKay some pants."
Rodney opened his mouth, but before he could say anything, the two of them were gone in a beam of light. John blinked a few times, confused, and then the buzzer for the washing machine went off. He put Rodney's clothes in the dryer and waited for him to come back.
Later, when they were both almost asleep, Rodney had sleepily told him that since Cameron ended up without pants so often, he no longer considered it odd in other people. So, not as well as when Radek had shown up, but any day when you got caught with a naked man that didn't end up with a court martial and a dishonorable discharge wasn't a total loss.
