I was so sorry for both the boys at the beginning and was sad for the kids when they ran after the car. I like how you resolved it! Winona was devious to the end having Bones put on that list. I'm glad the kids managed to find Jim :)

That scene in the movie when the little boy said "you said mom's don't leave" still makes me cry. I'm glad I did it some justice.

thank you.

This was a really good take on the movie events. When the kids are chasing the car, it's always so sad. You could really feel the pain pouring off everyone.

Winona's true colors really showed themselves.

I'm glad Bones finally got it together enough to get to New York and that the kids made it to Jim.

Oh! I enjoyed this very much. Maybe because Overboard was the last Romantic Comedy I ever liked! (I was very young when I watched it!)Now I watch them and just think: Oh, my God, she should press charges against that asshole! :)
But this was fun trip down memory lane. (Even if I do think Jim should press charges and Family Services should be called!) Thank you for sharing.

Yeah, suspension of disbelief was the hardest part, because - who does that to someone?! Bones would never...but, it's rom-com so you can get away with a lot. I think that's why it ended up being so long. I had to give them back stories and motivation that would make some kind of sense for them to do this to each other and still fall in love.

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Yay! I couldn't blame Jim for being angry. Not at all. But I'm so happy he realized the progression of Bones's emotions, from just wanting a bit of payback to full on guilt for how he'd tricked him, and how he'd fallen for him over the course of the summer. Loved the confrontation between Jim and Winona, and how he took control of his life back on all fronts. Awesome reunion. I can just see those three munchkins roaming around the building trying to find Jim. So cute. Off to read the epilogue now!
