Weekend thus far

Let's see...making up for some of last week's downtime. Swam on Friday night, and yesterday cycled 8 miles then ran 2. Clarification: I jogged (with The Moose!). SLOWLY--and I'm not speeding along in the pool or on the bike, either--so don't get weird ideas about my fitness level. Triathlon-wise, I'm in what's known as the Clydesdale class.

Annoyingly, the extended workout in the morning cost me a lot of energy later in the day, so I did a lot of reading, took a nap, and then made calzones for dinner ("Cow Zones" in the FruitStand dialect). Watched The Banana play Team Fortress 2 for a bit - it's a learning experience. Looked at quilt patterns for duvet covers, and looked at the pile of fabric slated for that use. Then went to bed at a reasonable hour after a bit more reading.

This morning, I'm making a list of things to do and will choose the most appealing:
  • plant decorative cabbages in pots along driveway
  • prune roses-late, but you can get away with that here
  • install door to "cat litterbox closet" (other items in there are cleaning supplies, TP...stuff one doesn't mind sharing air w/litterbox). To avoid putting a hole in my landlord's door, I bought a cheap one and cut of ~12" at the bottom.
  • put a plug strip near the head of my bed so I can have clock, reading light, AND computer plugged in simultaneously. Novel concept, that.
  • stain posts for reclaimed pergola - would be nice to have that DONE!
There are a lot of things that need to be done, but making progress on SOME seems better than freaking out about not being able to get it all done at once.

We got some much-needed rain over the last couple of days. Today we have heavy overcast interspersed with fleeting bits of sun. It's a good day. *grins cheekily* I have everything I need and am grateful. I also have a beautiful piece of snail mail which is alternately driving me to write and wring my hands over my own poor attempts to wrangle words.

Happiness is mine.
