Those don't look worth $400. They are purdy, but unless it's jewel-encrusted or something, footwear such as that shouldn't go for more than a hundred. But what do I know about fashion, right?

you don't understand. you've simply never had an emotional attachment to a pair of shoes. but that's okay, you're a boy. and $400 for quality leather, designer boot isn't necessarily unreasonable. and you'll find most high quality precious stones worth more than a mere pair of boots. and believe me, i'd take the boots over the jewels any day of the week and twice on sunday.
