I have been thinking a lot lately about the limitations of Livejournal from a blogging standpoint. I live a web2.0, media rich life and I want my blog to reflect that. There are so many things that I can not do on LJ because of the scripting limitations. But I love the community here and I do not want to leave this family of readers and responders

I'm with you. I'm looking into something similar right now. I'm in the very early stages of setting up my own site for podcasting with an RSS for LJ. In the process of setting up hosting right now. Just purchased the domain name yesterday. This is all brand new territory for me, so I expect progress to be slow.
