I decided to pull mom rank, because they were being teenaged stupid. I told them no way, had to wait until temps were staying at 40 degrees or more. Our sleeping bags are not rated for below freezing. I had sudden visions of hypothermic unconscious teenagers being dragged to the ER the next morning. They were in that belligerent, "I can so do this" mood. They would have been stubborn, just to not be wrong.... sigh. teenagers. OMG.
