Who: Piper, Trickster and friend
Where: A street somewhere in the city
When: ........... don't ask silly questions

It's gone midnight and even later than that. It's half-past last call but Piper is too keyed up to be tired.

He sits on a rooftop, overlooking the area staked out by James. The speakers that surround him are small but immensely powerful. They're turned out, facing the city, broadcasting.

The flute Piper plays frankly doesn't look like a flute. It's a bizarre contraption of bent pipe in strange metals. The tones it makes are too low to be heard by the normal human ear.

Consciously, anyways.

Broadcast by the speakers at an incredible volume, the tones can be felt across the city but most people would never even notice it. A slight shiver, a faint tremulation, perhaps a sense of someone walking over their grave - that's all.

One person would notice something more - but not consciously. An urge to walk in a particular direction, perhaps. Piper sits at the center of his web of sound, luring his prey with a siren's call.

Speaking of sirens, he casts another glance around the street below. James said he would be hiding over there, but the occasional sonar ping was coming back empty - he's not there yet. He looks around, hoping to spot anyone who looks like James's bait friend, and realizes he'd forgotten to ask how he would recognise her.
