I have a large family myself (Mom is one of 5 kids, dad is one of 7), and I LOVE huge meal gathering holidays. After a couple of decades of the entire maternal side gathering for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Easter, they've got the kitchen rotation down to an art. Thanks for sharing your family holiday, too. :)

My family has always been far enough apart that we don't really get together for *every* holiday. Due to circumstances it's been 9 years since I've made it home for Thanksgiving, which makes me a little sad, but we make a party of it when we DO get together even if it's not a holiday!

This will be the first year ever that I miss Christmas with my immediate family, which also is sort of sad for me, but Matt and I decided to try something different this year. As much as I love my family's traditions (and hope to keep a lot of them alive), I'm pretty excited about starting some traditions to call our own as well.
