SO 2008 was pretty much a terrible year all around. One crisis after another hit the world: food, economy, bombs, shootings, no war that was on in 2007 ended in 2008, floods, starvation; the list goes on and on. Milk and Slumdog Millionaire both tops my list as well. Although the second half of Slumdog might not be as "raw" (borrowing your words), it still pulled me in and kept the suspense and the end made me happy with the triumph.
