There goes another reason why I should stay in Johnny's fandom.

So SMAP will Be Disbanded at the end of this year but the members still remain with J&A!
I'm not a fan of SMAP's music except a few old songs, but their variety shows are really fun to watch. And I like Kimura. Honestly I don't have any feeling towards this news. After the mess with KAT-TUN I don't invest much my time and feeling in the fandom, ( Read more... )

Your comment is very welcome. :D
Although I keep complaining I will probably still here until the day I don´t interested in Jpop anymore.
And you are totally right: "Something's not right when one of their most popular groups is disbanding and their talents keep leaving."
Many think KAT-TUN is next. What is your opinion? I´m fine either way, as long as they are happy with their life and works.

For now, I'll believe that KAT-TUN will come back someday but it will probably take at least a year if not 2. It's been only 3 months and fans are whining about it already but if they came back this soon, there would have been no point in announcing a recharging period in the first place. In a way, I think the hiatus is part of a marketing ploy to draw up more interest in them which would hopefully lead to better sales when they do comeback. NEWS took a fairly long break before they started activities as 4 and now they're doing really well so maybe a similar strategy will work for KAT-TUN as well.

I would like for KT to stay together as they're still my favorite and really the only group I pay attention to music wise in J&A but if they decided to continue individually and are happy I would accept that as well.

Yes yes yes. I believe Kat-tun will come back and strong. They really need this break to come up with new material. I was just talking about this with a fellow Kat-tun fan who happens to be Japanese male as well and he had an interesting view I never even thought about.

Kat-tun NEEDS to drop all of their old material. All of it. They shouldn't be singing any of the songs from when they were still 6 nin or even 5 nin. From his point of view, still using the old songs seems clingy and lacks real growth. Fans support groups they grow with but Kat-tun isnt growing (In a lot of J-peoples eyes) they are simply filling in blanks, and at this point, a lot of fans that remain are fans of the song and not the group itself.

Good luck to them because I need me some more Nakamaru.

I'm not a SMAP fan and my world will not change after they disband. Each of the boys will be staying with Johnnys they are simply disbanding as a unit. They will still make appearances, act in dramas and chances are they will probably do reunions here and there. The only thing that is changing is the title of SMAP. They will not continue as a unit ( ... )

I agree with you nothing last forever. 28 years is already a miracle-like for an idol group. I think what bother people most (or only me?)is how they disbanded. There was an dispute between the members. I think it´s a pity, that they go separate way in such a situation after a long time together ( ... )

Yeah, now the news goes on and on about the dispute with members. I'm even watching it now. But it's like OK, yes they are SMAP but they are also PEOPLE. Sometimes people fight and get sick of each other. Shoot, I have friends that I've gotten sick of after 3 or 4 years. It's entirely normal human interactions and they are entirely normal humans, aside from being SMAP. They shouldn't have to tolerate each other just for the sake of music. Their music will only suffer for it.
People need to leave them alone.
