Tiny Rhymes (Part 2)

Jan 26, 2013 13:03

More "tiny rhymes" from Facebook prompts that came in last night, while I was sleeping. These are the ones I have written this morning. If anyone wants to submit a ONE WORD prompt here, I'm happy to oblige! My "default" poetry form tends towards haiku, but not always. Enjoy!

AUTOMOBILE
I cruise down the road,
warbling to the radio.
Alone with my thoughts.

HAIRBRUSH
Hedgehog bristles stiffly sweep
through my thin hair.
Parting is such sweet sorrow.

CAT
Chiaroscuro
you slink through the shadows, shy.
Quietly, I wait.

DIPLOMACY
We negotiate, you and I.
Why do we even hassle?
Skillfully, I maintain the peace.
We both agree on Castle.

CLEOPATRA
Egypt's femme fatale,
or so historians see her.
She trifled with Marc Antony
and also Julius Caesar.

INTRIGUING
I am captivated by his smile,
so polished and white.
I saunter up, and bare my neck.
"Care for a bite?"

BACON
Crispy pork product,
I heap you upon veggies,
a criss-cross pattern.
The anticipation builds
as I slowly open wide.

STRATEGERY
Oh Will Farrell -
You amuse me so
with your faux Bushism.

ONE
I take a deep breath,
let it out slowly and pray
for a good number.

poetry, friends, writing
