I like this one even more than the first. There's a completeness to it, an evocativeness of a story of foreboding, of friendship remembered and the friend now gone, and grief over the reality and the unmooring of oneself against the merciless unknowability of the future.

Thanks so much! When I compose these I put the poet’s names in parentheses after their line, so if I move the lines around I don’t get confused as to who wrote which. Thanks for reading!
