SO Nathan and I made a promise that if he would sing at an open mic i would read some poetry. Well, I haven't written in years so i was hoping i could get some feed back

I think I like it.

But I also think you have enough talent to write in free verse.
You should take a swing at it sometime.

PS - I would totally do open mic, too, if it made you less nervous.

I know- I like free verse, but I wasn't sure if my first time reading poetry should be more- poemy or not. and i think that the serious subject matter with the children's rhyme and images is ironic and slightly paradox-ish. i don't know. but i think if you got up and read some of your stuff it would have to be after me- i won't follow your stuff! : )
