Someday, I will add more icons and revive this journal. ANYWAY. OC related ramble, the more organized version part deux.
A bit of world background first before I introduce the players.
This world is ruled by chaos and order. Chaos resides in the depths of Hel, Order in Celestia. There was a war when the world was created but this eventually died down and the balance of the world was established. Chaos and Order work in tandem though the people they rule over (Heavenborne and Hellspawne) tend to... eh... not really get along. Sometime several centuries later, some Heavenborne general dude took over the throne of Chaos thanks to an inside job where the queen aided him in this takeover. The magical world was thrown into turmoil and the then Chaos God Skye was exiled. Long story short, shit hit the fan, Skye is no longer an influential political figure and all the magical creatures went into hiding.
I also tl;dr'd about this in someone's app. ANYWAY.
This is the infamous duo most would be familiar with. Pardon my scribbles. Photoshop borked on me and my pressure's nonexistent. Anyway. The weasel is Raseth Menas (Ras, really because that's just a mouthful.) and the... not a weasel is Shin.
Now these two comprise a partnership of reaper and scythe. I already tl;dr'd about that in the plurk thread so... yeah. XD;
A more in depth look.
Before I go on. The job of a reaper: to prevent souls from becoming fixated and to subdue and capture those that have. Normally ysee, spirits pass on. They see the tunnel and go on to Yama to be judged however, there are those with unfinished business. These souls are in danger of becoming fixated and eventually obsessed with finishing their work that they go insane and the emotion that they died with takes over their conscience. Like those dangerous ghosts that attack people. Those. It's a reaper's job to defeat Malevolent spirits like this and send them to daddy for judgment.
Shin is the fourth in a department of six reaper siblings, children of the death god Yama. Buuuut she's the shortest and this has earned her nicknames such as tiny, bonsai, shorty, mini, little death, runt and the like. Brothers. Gotta love em. She's the reaper in charge of Death by Intention of Others so if you died because someone killed you, it's her job to make sure you pass on and not go rogue. She's got a fraternal twin brother named Saei who's in charge of Death by Intention of Self. IE, Suicides and the like.
When Skye was exiled, the Department was disbanded so the reapers went on their separate ways. Shin put up a bar somewhere in a small town called Aulenmaar and works as the local barkeep to the human race and serves as weapons dealer and mercenary meet up for the non-human folk. One day, she spots Skye and the princess and offers them room and board in her bar to help with work because mostly of gratitude to the guy who taught her a whole lot of stuff back then.
Shin... inherited a lot of my traits. Well, mostly her quirks. She's scared of the dark, is a little cautious and tends to believe anyone right off the bat. Apart from that, she likes her coffee, cake and acts like a rather inquisitive kid. She tries to be polite and treat everyone equally and is a real people pleaser. Ras is pretty much her polar opposite. He's a little loud, can be pretty rude and obnoxious and isn't afraid to say what's on his mind, manners be damned. He'll do anything for a cookie and has the strangest crush on Nicole Kidman. :/
In a strange HP AU, she's sorted into Hufflepuff, enjoys potions, and hides Ras in her robes every breakfast because ZOMG!OWLS.
This, some of you may recognize as Lalianna. She's the Layla I got my name from. When I apped her into WR, I changed her name to Lalianna to avoid confusion and possible backlash of "HOMG SELF INSERT SUE". Truth be told, she's nothing like me. The only thing we have in common is bitterness.
So she was exiled along with Skye seeing as she was next in line to the throne. When she moves in with Shin, she meets a human mercenary named (You guessed it.) Cebrian and ends up falling for him after a very long period of tsundere.
Quoting a small comic in my journal at the time:
(S = Shin, L = Layla, Sk = Skye)
S: I'll miss him.
Sk: You'll be fine, child.
S: ... -glaring at L- You'll miss him too.
L: Now why would I miss that boorish, egotistical, disrespectful...
...charming, eloquent, rather handsome...
S: ¬_¬ you were saying, Princess?
He called her a courtesan, she protested, he kissed her and she fell. HARD. Then one day, he up and vanished on her. Shin was enraged at this because hey, this girl was becoming her best friend and some dude played her and now she's still waiting for him OH GOD I THINK I'M IN LESBIANS WITH HER.
XD; yeah.
So Lalianna's mad at the world for forgetting the grandeur that was once the Royal Family of Hel and made at Cebrian because DUDE YOU BROKE HER PROUD SPIRIT WHERE ARE YOU NOW? Now, certain songs make her grouchy and angsty and cause her to walk out. Specially if they're tango remixes. And if it happens to be Save Room by John Legend. That song just worked so well the first time because she was all broken from the last time she loved (She admits she was horrible as a lover and wanted a second chance but damn she sucks at this) and when some dude came along to this song saying it'll be better this time, she believed him... and POOF. Nope, totally not listening to that song while I'm typing this.
She has control over fire (It's a family thing.) and this power is channeled through dance and using that fan she always has on her person.
In said HP AU, she's in Ravenclaw and her patronus was once upon a time in the form of a dragon but after she met Cebrian, it morphed into a jaguar. She specializes in fire magic.
...And then there's this guy.
See the silver haired dude? That is Skye, my greatest creation, my magnum opus, the one OC who's seen it all and had his heart broken too many times to count. Now, remember how I said that this universe is a mash up of different mythologies? That there with him, the guy with the wings and the hair is Lucifer. Our Lucifer. Commonly known as Luce, Peaches to his brother. (Rocko's Modern Life reference).
I'm rather proud of these two and the work I put into them so bear with me and my strange AU. Skye is the god of Chaos but this is more like a job and formality rather than who he is because take one look at him and I'm sure that's the last thing you expected. He's a quiet man, really, intelligent and rather well read. Early on, he started as a fallen Seraph but somewhere in his development, I turned him to godhood. Skye is... a paradox to say the least. He rules hel with the face of an angel, the patience of a buddha and the manner of a father. He's everyone's dad. I'd always associated him with Quetzalcoatl and strangely, Shiva came into the picture some time later as well did Sin.
His younger brother, Luce is... lame. Literally. That fall broke him. His back's full of scars and he walks with a perpetual limp aided by that cane. Strangely, he's the Tezcatlipoca to Skye's Quetzalcoatl. Luce's charming when he can be and his sense of humor is equal to none. But of course, it's usually at someone's expense. And he's a prideful thing, really. Unfortunately, this pride is what caused his voice to disappear on me after shit hit the fan. I'll get him back someday. Eventually.
Did I mention the great chaos god is a hydrophobe and his brother's scared of birds? Yeeeeeeah.

Okay, last one! Hope you're not tired yet.
This is a baby dragon. Go on. Squint your eyes. It is. It goes by two names: Akane and Rede. But it refers to itself by the strange name of "Dregum" which is just it's way of saying dragon. This thing has the mentality of a puppy and the tongue of a lolcat.
Cozza itsa bebeh dregums, it talks liek this. Ahz nawt kiddin. It speaks in lolcat sos mebbe some peoplez gun find bebeh dregum annoyin but ah wantsa try an play her somewherez because she's nawt that bad really. She's justa bebeh dregums and can't speaks too well.
She's normally a happy thing but when the queen left, let's just say Rede wasn't very happy. This is best summed up in the way she puts it.
Coz... coz... one day, there was this guy. And then... this guy, he tawks to momma then momma went away. And she dun love dregum nomoar. So... dregum wants her momma but dregum knows momma's nawt comin back.
