Petition to grant D&D 4th Ed an Open Game License

Mar 25, 2016 09:10

This petition has just started, an initiative of the RPG Review Cooperative. It's about granting 4th Edition D&D the same sort of Open Game License as 3rd and 5th editions.

Even if you're not a huge fan of 4th edition please spend the minute or so that it takes to sign the petition. Thanks! Leave a comment

Sorry for the approval delay; things have been more than dead around here and I've only been popping in every few weeks.

No problem; we'll be keeping the petition running for a couple of months, so plenty of time.

Good to see that the group still has active moderators!

Can I make a humble suggestion? That we turn off moderation for long-term members who post with links in their posts?

I fully agree, but my moderations options are a bit limited Once somebody posts (not just comments) to the community, there's an option to auto-approve all future posts from that user, but it doesn't seem that I can do so pre-emptively.

I've been playing 4e with a subscription to DND Insider, but they've been making that harder to find, and they now only allow current subscribers to renew. No one new can sign up. I'm not sure how long it'll be before they no longer let us renew our subscription. Anyway, I signed the petition.

I didn't know 5E was open license. Where can I find that, if you don't mind my asking?
