As we are all hopefully aware, a massive 8.9-magnitude earthquake it Japan early Friday afternoon with a strong 30-foot wave from a tsunami following after, causing a truly severe amount of disaster and destruction. If you could find it in your hearts and pockets to donate, here are some places where you can do so:

Do NOT donate to the American Red Cross. The Japanese Red Cross has not requested aid from them. Every other source linked, however, should be safe. Disregard that, the ARC should also be good to go!
