Dear mum,
over the years ive learn how to improvise on my white lies for my impulsive buys. Especially bad buys, you tell mum that..
#01: it's a gift
#02: it's on loan
#03: It's simply not yours(safekeeping for friends)
Alternatively, you can hide your buys to a certain period of time.
I used #01 tdy. And it looks ugly, now i have to go snip half the dress.
