well considering its been at 5-6 dollars a gallon in europe for years now, and taking into account how much we spend on importing the oil plus the cost to have troops guard it, the fact that we were paying so little before this is the real amazing part.

derek called the day after the storm, but i didn't get a chance to talk to him. colin and i were in new orleans the day before and had a hard time getting out until the next morning. we took highway 90 through gulfport and biloxi that morning cause it was mayhem and riots on I-10. we got ome the afternoon before the winds and rain really started ripping through. i'm glad i got to see the place before "end times." it just kills me to see everything that happened- its still pretty primitive in some places in mobile, too. I'll call you guys as soon as i can. school's out here for awhile, what with curfews, police states and no gas, so i'm volunteering with red cross until classes get in again. see you soon,
love megan

i am so glad that you got out of there okay - i was really worried when all of the news reports of the damage began. i hope that everything in Daphne is okay, and that all of the family is doing alright. crazy about the lack of classes and the police states. good luck with everything, and keep me updated. love ya.

I never got to go there either.

I would go now to help, but I would literally be in the way. They need law enforcement more than anything else.
