What a terrific experience.  Such a different vibe from my last visit to japan when I mostly stayed in Tokyo.. Found more Green Tea KitKats and
couldn't believe how wonderful both the downtown area, and 'burbs of Kyoto were.

Tranquil and wonderfully peaceful, and so needed the break..

So excited that I finally get part one of my vacation.  Getting ready to go to Japan on a wonderful trip to Volks.  We arrive Osaka on Friday and then get picked up and wooshed over to Kyoto.. Been along time in coming, but I have decided to join the world once again and not get so caught up in my job.

We had a really tough summer with another accidental death in the water with a very special diver.   I have now been at my job
in DC for a year and and half. This is the second time we have lost a diver who was one of the best in the world. ( Read more... )

Finally taking a break as I got a terrific invite from a dear friend to go to his beach house in DE. What a wonderful peaceful place.

Will post some pics.. however no comments on the beach pics.

So much snow, that my arms ache, back is sore, and hands have blisters even though I wore gloves to shovel.. This is supposed to be the South, but these people don't know what to do with SO MUCH FREAKIN SNOW!!
