So I planned to be better about posting - I don't know why I've fallen off the past few months - and then everything just went crazy with work, and I am on my THIRD, and worst, cold since early Nov. And this time of year is really hard for me - Papa's birthday is Christmas Day, and I find that harder to deal with than the date when we lost him,

For what is meant to be a jolly time, Christmas seems to be hard for so many people.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's an expiration date on grief. And I think sometimes it hibernates for a while and then wakes up and kicks you in the head with steel-toed boots.

Exactly this. I've described it almost exactly like that - I'll be ok for awhile, and then I'm driving home and suddenly it's like someone punched me in the stomach, for no obvious reason.

I know Christmas is the hardest time, when you're grieving - so much pressure to be jolly. *hugs*

My grandfather died on 26 December. Mind, it was in 1968, but his wife (Gram) lived another 40 years, and never much liked it from then on.

Hope life stops biting you soon. We miss your presence! :)
