AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've got to be kidding me.

Apparently, the BBC have just issued a "statement" or something (actually, it was a FAQ page) wherein they tackle the question "Is the Doctor Half-human?" and their response is "Yes, on his mum's side. It was established in the TV movie; though purists tend to disregard this."

THE DOCTOR ISN'T HALF HUMAN.

Why? BECAUSE I SAY SO.

Well, if anyone has power over it, it would be you, being Eight and all.

THE DOCTOR ISN'T HALF HUMAN BECAUSE EIGHT!MUN SAYS HE'S NOT!!!

Doctor Who canon is extremely nebulous. What with the Eighth Doctor audios, the PDAs, Big Finish, etc, people generally choose to believe what they want. I believe Susan and the Doctor are genetically related, and that Romana did become President of Gallifrey after leaving E-Space.

I don't believe that the Doctor is half-human, but if people want to think that, they're more than welcome to.

I agree. That's one of the great things about Doctor Who. You can pick and choose whatever suits you, and somehow, somewhere, it usually manages to work out.

However, on a different note, I completely agree about the Doctor and Susan. I've always assumed they were genetically related, I've never really had a problem with it.

It's only something that people have been pulling apart about recently. I think the idea of the Doctor reproducing - looms or otherwise - is just too much for some fans, hehe. Carole Ann Ford herself is rather bemused by the idea. She and William Hartnell used to talk about it a lot themselves, since they have so little information to go on in the scripts!
