Glee fic: A Complete History of Noah Puckerman, Abridged

Oct 21, 2009 15:14

Fun fact: I always confuse Matchbox 20 and Fall Out Boy when I'm listening to the radio. Idek. Rob Thomas and Patrick Stump sound the same to me. This probably means that I am old.

I had so much fun writing this, you guys. I really wanted to get it up before tonight's episode because I know it's totally going to get blown out of the water. Anyway ( Read more... )

Awesome. Love this. Whatever is on the show tonight, this is still a great look at a very plausible history between them.

LOVE THIS!! Awesome. There's been a lot of ppl trying out the idea that puck and rachel have history because of their religion but I think this is my favorite story so far.

Thank you! I haven't really been reading other fics in this fandom, but I love when everyone takes the same idea and runs with it!

Damn, why did you end it there?

This is a really different look at why they are the way they are. I really, really, REALLY loved....

Then she reaches up and stops just short of poking him in the alcohol-flushed cheek, “And that you couldn’t always hold your liquor.” Puck looms over her, eyes bright with mimosas.

“But I’m hot now,” he points out pragmatically.

Aghhhh... he totally is the hot guy now. He's just TOO sure of himself. That is completely Puck.

He kissed her on the mouth, closed lips. She’d closed her eyes and counted seconds because she wasn’t sure what else to do. She touched his neck, tentatively, and opened her mouth just a bit before they both pulled back.

His mouth was a little shiny and Rachel remembers not knowing whether it would be okay to lick her lips or not. “Thanks,” he said, huffing out a laugh. His face was colored a deep, dusky red. He scooted a little away from her, pressing palms, fingers wide spread, onto the concrete curb. She could have put her hands down too and they’d have been touchingI ( ... )

Haha, right? He's ridiculous but it's so awesome.

Thanks so much for all your nice comments! It was really great to hear! It's kind of amazing because the comments have run the gamut of people reading it as a just-friends fic to OTP! I was trying to toe the line of there possibly being chemistry between them without them clearly being into each other, because that feels most like boy-girl friendships in high school.

I actually was into the lines about the hands too! That moment after your first awkward kiss where you're like "WHAT DO I DO NOW?"

Wait, I totally wrote this epic reply to this comment. Did you get it or did LJ eat it?

Anyway, just in case: thank you so much for all your nice comments! I love when people post what worked for them or how they read certain parts of the story. I was trying to toe the line of attraction and flirtation but I love that you read it as much more than that!

Also, the whole uncertainty after your first awkward kiss when you're like WHAT DO I DO NOW is key. She wants to touch his hand but that would be embarrassing!

Anyway, thanks so much and sorry if you get this comment twice!

Not commenting on the fic -- not a Glee fan, sorry -- but I loved the music bit. I love me some Rob Thomas, but he and Patrick Stump both have some weird sort of "if I look long enough, maybe I'll eventually find the right note" kind of tone to their voice, even though they're never terribly out of tune. I don't know -- maybe it's one of those never had professional training things. Or something.

Dude, I heard that song "Sometimes" or "Someday" or something and I definitely thought it was Fall Out Boy. I also thought that song with the "Let's see how far we've come" line was FOB when I first heard it. Their voices are so similar! I feel like Rob Thomas is just a grown up Patrick Stump.

Ha! Well, he leads a largely childfree existence with his hot model wife and their dogs and his closest band friends, so I suppose Patrick Stump could do worse.
