After exploring The City for a while, you might find a rather nondescript brick building. It's nothing fancy, just another building stuck in the business district. The only notable thing about it is the golden letters spelling out CITY HALL affixed to the facade. Under that, there's a plastic banner hung up. The banner proudly states "WELCOME, NEWCOMERS" in a neat, block hand. A fold out table is set up in front of the building, on the sidewalk, and it's covered with tourism pamphlets. A well-dressed blond woman is standing behind the table and handing out what appears to be cookies and punch. If you ask her anything, she will say hello and tell you that everyone will be explained in the town hall meeting.
What's strange about her is that, if you're familiar with American accents, you'll notice hers doesn't seem to fall anywhere. Some words she says sound distinctly Southern, while some sound Midwestern, and a few New England.
Should you choose to go into the city hall building, you will be greeted with something even stranger: instead of a normal building interior, the door leads to a gorgeous
beach. You're not alone on the sandy expanse, though. Other people have arrived before you and more are coming. There's a few umbrellas and picnic tables, kindly provided by city officials, if you would like.
So come on in. Enjoy a little sun and fun. You're already here.
