Daphne had just finished her essay on the unbreakable vow when a tall, dark-skinned boy swaggered into the common-room.
Blaise plopped down beside her and threw a possessive arm around her shoulders.
Daphne leaned forward, shrugging off his embrace.
"I've got something for you, Greengrass," he said, smirking.
"You know flowers don't work on me, Zabini," she answered dismissively.
"Ah, but I know what does." Eyes gleaming mischievously, he popped a bit of candy in his mouth.
As she turned to offer her retort, his lips caught hers, kissing her soundly.
"Mmm..." she murmured. "Dark chocolate does work on me."
