IMPORTANT MODERATOR MESSAGE
This is a very important post. Please read carefully.
As you probably know, there have been some journal deletions and other mayhem at adult-oriented communities at Live Journal. romancingwizard is not considered an 'adult-oriented' community, in our opinion, because we are not an exclusively NC-17 posting community. We are a challenge community with adult members writing a variety of genres and ratings. In our last challenge, which produced 60 drabbles, we had 44 G/PG-rated drabbles, 12 PG-13/R-rated drabbles, and only 4 NC-17-rated drabbles.

If your community only contains occasional sexually explicit or adult material, such as the occasional nude photograph in a photography community, it is generally not necessary to restrict membership. However, these entries should be placed behind an lj-cut tag and clearly contain a warning that they should not be viewed by minors.
This LJ verbiage applies to visuals (art, manips and photos), however we are going to make a few pro-active adjustments to make sure we are operating within California law with our fiction too.
1) NC-17 art will be not be posted at romancingwizard. Although our membership is responsible and our community guidelines are straightforward, we'd rather be cautious.
2) NC-17 fiction will still be allowed, of course, but we will be adding an additional warning statement to all NC-17 fic and double checking that it is placed behind an lj-cut.
3) The age of consent at romancingwizard has been changed from 17 to 18 years-old. LJ has stated that they are going by California law, and the age of consent in the State of California is 18.
These changes are hereby in effect for the current challenge.
Over the next few weeks, the moderators will be looking through the archive. If needed, we will add a Moderator Comment with instructions to any NC-17 post that either needs a warning, age statement or a cut. We will have a standardized warning/statement, which should satisfy LJ TOS. Please wait until you receive a Moderator Comment before acting because the moderators need to be methodical about how we go about this. There's no need to do something twice. As always, we expect complete cooperation.
There's no need to panic or worry, so relax and enjoy the current challenge.
