Prompt: No 17 Wreath of Christmas roses
Faded and delicate with age, a wreath of Christmas roses is placed again on the Tonks’ door. A present from Ted many Christmas Eves ago, Andromeda cannot force herself to cast it aside.
“Pretty roses for my pretty Meda,” Ted whispered in her ear after they had put Dora in bed. “At Christmas or at any time, roses to show how much I love you.”
Today, with Teddy at her side, she adjusts the flowers for another Yule season.
“Pretty,” her grandson says. He reaches for her hand.
“Yes,” she agrees, hiding a tear. “Another Ted thought so too, once.”
