“Thank you, Mrs. Patil,” Seamus said with a charming smile. “That was delicious.” He excused himself from the table and headed to the bathroom, humming a harmony of Christmas carols under his breath.
Returning to the living room strangely devoid of Christmas decorations, Seamus paused when he heard raised voices.
“Ay, Babaji! We should never have sent the girls to that Gora school! What family would want a daughter-in-law who does magic all day but can't make round chapattis?“
“Mu-um!” Parvati whined.
Seamus stepped into the room, smiling. “Oh, don’t worry, Mrs. Patil. Mam doesn’t know what round chappies are.”
