Prompt: Broken Wand
Cries of "Merry Christmas!" rang out around the ward, while the cries of Gilderoy Lockhart were smothered into a pillow.
"Oh, Gildy, what's wrong?" the witch said, coming into his room.
"I tried decorating," Gilderoy sobbed, "but my wand, it must be broken. I can't perform magic!"
Burrowing into her familiar embrace, Gilderoy brightened as she tidied his decorating disaster.
"I think you love me almost as much as I do!"
"I think I love you more."
Gilderoy's mind said "I'm not sure that's possible", but his mouth said nothing while his face went red and settled into a smile.
