A Christmas he’d never thought to have: the war over, himself alive, though only recently up to full strength.
His assistant, his angel of mercy, held his hand tightly as he lead her through a secret passage.
She’d convinced him to try, to live, to heal, and had proved herself by remaining by his side through the interminable rehabilitation.
At his whispered password, the door opened to reveal the room cast in green light, furnished in red.
Seating her beside him, he summoned a tiny ornament from the tree and presented it to her.
“Will you, Hermione?”
“Yes, Severus. Yes.”
