Tonks was throwing her all into this Christmas-Remus would be coming and she was hoping he could be convinced to work on their marriage. She’d worked hard on making the tiny flat look pleasantly festive to lighten the mood.
Remus was drab among all the tinsel, but to Tonks he outsparkled it all.
“Please come home,” she said hastily.
He looked to her with an expression she initially could not read; she realised he was smiling for the first time in months. Remus leaned towards Tonks, kissed her lips and pulled a strand of stray lametta from her hair.
