My favourite memory doesn’t belong to me.
Grandromeda keeps it in a vial on the bookshelf, next to a picture of Mum and Grandpa.
The faded quicksilver strands are sticky, and the image glitches with static in the Pensieve, but I still watch it each Christmas, birthday and Battle Anniversary. And sometimes just because.
Mum, with me in rounded residency, sings Jingle Spells (horribly off-key), and her hair flashes gold and red in beat with the song.
Dad watches her with an amazing smile on his face, eyes glinting gold with the approaching moon.
I hope I make them proud.
