The day was marked by the arrival of a black carriage. Dressed morbidly, the family solemnly walked to their seats. They loved their son, but they wouldn't pretend to be happy about something so dreadful.
The girl did not show for the ceremony. Her family did not approve either.
Draco and Pansy were pained to see their son so hurt. Perhaps it was for the best, they told him. Still, it tore at their hearts.
Two weeks later, their son and the girl eloped. When they returned, the son was deliriously happy.
Perhaps it was for the best after all.
