Over the holidays, the newlyweds sorted through the Smith's vault, seeking treasures for their new home.
Inside a jewel box, Morag found an heirloom topaz ring. "My birthstone."
"Huh." Zach shrugged off his shirt. "It's hot."
He unsheathed a sword, flexing his muscles.
"Stunning," she murmured.
He nodded, examining the jewelled hilt.
"Not that. The ring -- and my husband."
"You think so?" Intrigued, Zach put the weapon away. "Why?"
"The topaz is the exact shade of your eyes, Zach."
Tenderness crossed his features. Zach kissed his wife, gently holding her against his bare chest. "Will you wear the ring?"
"Forever."
