Posting Tips
These tips will help new and returning members post with confidence at Romancing the Wizard.
Using the Posting Template at RTW
1) Once your story or drabble is just as you want it (and beta read), open a new document in MS Word.
2) Copy all the coding in the template box (from the challenge guidelines) by right clicking and choosing SELECT ALL and COPY. (If you try to copy it manually, you may leave out some of the < br > spacers and other information at the top or bottom.)
3) Paste the template into the new document.
4) Carefully put your cursor behind the 'X's and fill in the information. (Delete the 'X's.)
5) Do not modify the template.
6) Once everything is filled in, open your separate story document. Copy the story or drabble text and paste it next to 'Your Story Goes Here' in the template. (Then delete 'Your Story Goes Here'.)
7) Save this file in 'doc' format. (This is the file you should send to the Proof Witches and use for posting your story.)
Posting At RTW
From the Challenge Guidelines: Always use the HTML text box option when 'posting an entry' at RTW. Attempting to use the 'rich text' box will cause template errors and result in a rejected submission.
When you select POST AN ENTRY on Live Journal, look in the upper right hand corner of the text box. The HTML tab must be in the front of the RICH TEXT tab to post at RTW with our template. Just click on the HTML tab, and it will move to the front position. This simple action will keep most of the posting issues from happening.
More Tips
I recommend posting a copy of your final version to your personal journal under PRIVATE. (Make sure to use the HTML posting text box.) This way you can check that the lj-cut is working and everything looks right before sending a copy to your Proof Witch. I do this all the time because of the amount of coding for each challenge. It saves a lot of aggravation, and I'm able to post with confidence.
Don't forget to Request a Proof Witch, if they are on duty for the challenge. If there is something amiss with your template, our Proof Witches should be able to spot it.
Before posting, double check the word count of the text in your story.
Please ask me for posting help, if needed. I'm more than happy to assist you.
