Request a Proof Witch for Challenge Twenty-One (Revised 12-18-08)
NOW CLOSED Contact the Moderators if you need assistance. (seaislewitch at livejournal dot com)
All stories posted at Romancing the Wizard must be proof-read for canon spellings and usage, grammar, and punctuation, including proper comma usage. You may use your own qualified proof-reader, or you may request the assistance of an official RTW Proof Witch.
Romancing the Wizard has assembled a team of knowledgeable authors who have volunteered to proof-read stories for our challenges. At
romancingwizard, we define a proof-reader as someone who gives a final review of a near-perfect story to catch a stray comma, etc. and to make sure that the template is correct. (This not beta-reading, and there is a distinct difference. Please click here for more information:
link.)
For this challenge, the following Proof Witches will be on duty:
gelsey,
ladywhitehart, and
somigliana, as well as two mods:
redvelvetcanopy and
missblane.
The Procedure:
1) When your story is complete, copy this template and paste it into a comment to this post. Fill out the required information, adding any notes as desired.
I'd like to request a Proof Witch, please. Author:
Wizard/Witch: X
Rating/Warnings: X (Choose one: G/PG or PG-13/R or NC-17.)
Notes: X
2) A Proof Witch will respond to your request in a reasonable amount of time. Moderator RedVelvetCanopy will watch this post and remedy any unanswered requests, if needed.
3) When a Proof Witch asks you to send your story, make sure it's the final version, which includes the filled-out story template (HTML coding). Always go over your story several times and check the word count of the story text before sending it. (The Proof Witches will not proof-read stories without the templates.)
4) Any questions regarding content, challenge requirements, etc. should be sent directly to the lead moderator at seaislewitch(at)livejournal(dot)com.
Please note: Submissions received with significant and/or multiple errors (guideline violations, incorrect word count, punctuation and grammar errors, template issues, etc.) will be rejected with a detailed list of items to be corrected. This may also include a request for a specific revision to meet RTW standards.
The best way to avoid a rejection is to request a final review by an RTW Proof Witch and implement the advice given. The reasonable Moderators are more likely to overlook a minor error or two in this case.
Deadline to request a Proof-Witch:
3:00 pm EST on Friday, December 19, 2008.

(Thanks to missblane for proof-reading this.)
