I'm looking for a domain name that is
  1. Available (as a .com and .net)
  2. Short
  3. Easy to spell
  4. Not similar to other domain names
  5. Suitable for personal and (eventually) professional use

Your MIT username? firstnamelastname? I suspect "not similar to other domain names" is pretty hard to find these days, if you're limiting yourself to English words. [firstname]world isn't taken... :)

Eh...I want it to be easily pronounceable. My last name is not. And people misspell it. A lot.
No, I'm not limited to English. I'd love to have a Greek or Latin word, perhaps some obscure language. Ease of spelling still applies. :-P
I want it to be catchy, so that it can easily be remembered. It's better if it has some profound meaning. Like evanescence. I like that word and it's a good name for a band.
Also, suitable for personal and professional use involves being fitting for my personality, my love of science, and/or my desire to be an educator.
