Mini-Time Capsule

The rental car that I am driving around only has a tape deck in it. I suppose after a trip to Radio Shack, I could have jury rigged my portable CD player; but instead I decided to listen to my old cassette tape collection (Eek! I just dated myself!). While the car has a decent radio, I stopped listening to radio stations long ago ( Read more... )

That's funny Mike b/c I just bought a "90's" cd over the weekend, and I've been cranking up the volume here and there to tunes like "You get what you give", "Mmm Mmmm Mmm" (who can forget that one?!) and "Laid" hehe, so I know exactly where you are coming from ;)

So no new car yet? I am working on making an appt with my credit union reps to see about getting a car loan. I really want to get a new car. I love my wagon (yes the SAME wagon that Matt & I drove you to the airport in!), but it's time for something new. I was thinking I was going to donate my car to a worthy cause, but we'll see how much a dealer will give me on a trade-in.

Keep us posted!

This post makes me nostalgic for my own tape collection which was lost long ago. Alas, I now scuttle through radio stations on my radio completely at the mercy of two corporations for the songs that make me smile and sing. I'm thinking of switching to satelite radio...

Especially my Paul Simon tape which I've been wishing for at various times... And the Indigo Girls now that I think about it.

Yeah, I was thinking about Satellite as well, except that I think it comes with a subscription or some nonsense. My fear is that I spend the money only to discover that they are playing all the music I already own! :P

I have many a gem in my tape collection, mostly mixed tapes, with classics of the 90's, I am not as old. ;) I also have some excellent audio taped "interviews" as well, which I am sure you know what I am talking about. You were so clever in setting up the interview, so the questions asked would mostly be answered by song clips. Oh, the days of tape decks and the ability to record to tapes easily. I have them if you ever want to reminisce. ;) I also think Rosie and Oscar would enjoy them someday. I miss you guys too. Have fun with the tapes and let me know what your new ride will be.

Yes! There are some tapes that I rediscovered, and they are irreplaceable! I have got to find a way to make all that digital....

Yeah, so the new wheels are here, check out the latest post when you can!
