The flooding that started several weeks ago resulted in consequences more serious than previously expected. Many buildings, including living spaces and corporate institutions, have suffered much water damage, and many people are still displaced after the evacuations because their homes are no longer livable. Traffic has been entirely rerouted around bodies of leftover water.
Worse than that, the floods have apparently destroyed the city's clean water supply. It's as if the water shortage from three months ago is repeating, with the added climate control complication. The city is scalding. Everyone has been advised to stay indoors to prevent sunstroke, but without drinkable water no one can stay properly hydrated in these conditions. So many people are sick, and a number among those dead or nearing death. I never thought I would see anything like this happen in Romdeau. It's devastating.
I must remain calm. No one wants to see a face of the Security Bureau worried. It would only cause people more distress to see their authority figures in a panic.
